High Point Dry Eye Clinic

Dry eye disease occurs when our tears do not properly lubricate our eyes. Dry eye symptoms include a dry, gritty or burning sensation in the eyes, redness, watery or teary eyes, and mucus that make the eyes feel “glued shut” after sleeping. Many people also report the feeling of something in the eye or eyestrain. Itching and light sensitivity may also occur. Tens of millions of people in the United States suffer from dry eye disease, and the number of people diagnosed with dry eye is increasing. As a result, Eye Point Optometry is proud to offer TempSure Envi and Lumenis Optilight (IPL) — cutting edge technologies that help treat dry eyes — to our patients in High Point, NC.

TempSure Envi

TempSure Envi is a non-invasive and non-surgical radiofrequency laser treatment that can help alleviate dry eyes and improve your eye health and eye aesthetics starting with your very first treatment. Please see our FAQ below for more information about TempSure Envi.

OptiLight (IPL)

Lumenis’ latest intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) is intended to improve signs of dry eye disease due to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). It is also the only FDA approved IPL used to treat this condition. Using the pulsation of light, the Optilight™ IPL works to improve inflammation, tear break-up time, and the function of your meibomian gland.

Eye Point Optometry TempSure Envi Dry Eye Treatments Cost $300.00 per treatment, but discounts are available for packages paid in full.

Most patients will need three (3) sessions to unclog their oil glands. If you are interested in skin tightening, then you may need more treatments depending on the laxity of your skin. All of your needs will be assessed and the number of treatments will be determined during your pre-treatment consultation.

The treatment itself takes about 12 minute, but it will take about 30 minute from start to finish.

Many cases of dry eye are caused by Meibomian Gland Disease (MGD), a condition where blocked oil ducts fail to secrete enough oil or secrete oil of poor quality. With TempSure Envi, radiofrequency energy is used to gently and comfortably raise the temperature of skin around the oil glands, helping to unclog them and reducing the symptoms associated with dry eye.

In addition to treating blocked oil glands that cause dry eyes, the TempSure Envi treatment also boosts collagen production, helping to smooth and tighten baggy upper or lower eyelids and reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles in the eye area.

TempSure Envi is a safe, effective, and comfortable way for Dr. Sellers to treat dry eye disease. Additionally, dry eye patients can now experience longer lasting relief from dry eye symptoms like burning, itching, and eye pain. Further, TempSure Envi is safe for treating baggy eyelids, too. In fact, it is designed for the most delicate areas of the face.

Most patients describe a gentle warmth that is spa-like and comfortable. It is normal to have some redness right after the treatment, but that goes away quickly. Most importantly, there is no downtime when you have a TempSure Envi treatment. You can return to work or play immediately!

Anyone is a candidate for TempSure Envi! No matter your skin type, skin tone, or level of sun damage, TempSure Envi can work for you to reduce skin laxity, wrinkles, bags under the eyes, and dry eye symptoms.
